Multnomah Falls and other waterfalls and vistas of the Columbia Gorge are astonishing icons of geology, the sort that have inspired mythology and lore of warriors, gods and passions. We will drive out in our vans to meet the tallest waterfall in the state, and then drive to a few of the shorter but even more stunning ones, too; falls which could only be the daughters and sons of legend. In this half-day experience, we will explore wonders with some short hikes (totaling less than 2.5 miles/4 km) and visits to overlooks and vistas that will have you gasping in awe. While Multnomah Falls and its iconic Benson Bridge are together the most-visited tourist attraction in the Portland area, they are only a part of our experience. We will meet at our shop in inner SE Portland, where we'll ride in our comfortable Sprinter and Transit vans to the nearby gorge. Depending on weather conditions, we will visit a few small hidden waterfalls and spectacular plunge-style falls whose columnar basalt has us learning words for "amazing" in other languages. We'll also tell you stories, geology, botany and oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and wild spirits and about the oldest North American civilization, forever altered by “manifest destiny." A morning hike to stunning city views, in a dog friendly park with our rescue dogs! Non-profit, all proceeds go to the very dogs you are walking, who are also up for adoption. We'll meet friendly people on the way and let them know about the dogs. A nice walk up hiking trails to the top of Runyon Canyon. Fantastic city views, and the perfect view of the Hollywood Sign! As you climb your way up the hill with your new pals in tow, you’ll be exercising and socializing the dogs, and letting locals know they’re up for adoption. You’ll also become a puppy paparazzi and take their photos in front of panoramic backdrops—you can even pose with them with the famous Hollywood sign behind you. Your pictures will then be used to generate interest in the rescue organization, attract potential adopters, and bring in donations that will help further care for and foster the dogs until they find their forever homes. NEW! We have added afternoon hikes Thursday through Saturday. Watch the sun set from 1000 feet above LA, amazing view as we walk down Runyon Canyon... and then you can go explore Hollywood and West Hollywood, a short walk away for an evening coffee or dinner! Every parrot has a story. You’ll learn all about our rainbow-colored rescues in Kona’s only parrot sanctuary. We’ll start with our mission: to give every displaced parrot a nutritious diet, large space to fly, and a safe place to interact with other parrots (and people). Next, we'll take a walk around the sanctuary, where you can get to know the range of personalities of cockatoos, lovebirds, macaws, and more species. Throughout the tour, you will have many photo opportunities, especially with our well-trained parrots. Other things to note: Wear casual clothes, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, and bring a camera. Parrots in Paradise Sanctuary is also home to two rescue dogs, two Holstein cows and two sulcata tortoise. While we like to keep our group sizes small to enhance a personal experience, we are open to hosting larger family/friend groups with more than six individuals.

A Ten Apple Farm goat hike is a two hour recreational and educational goat experience. You'll meet your hosts (and our herd of Alpine dairy goats), and hear about their 16 years of experience with goats and living on a small family farm. Once we've met the goats and the many other animals residents of the farm, we’ll set off on a hike through the Ten Apple Farm woods with the goats and Philip our sheep! The hike consists of an approximately one and a half mile loop trail through our woods on lightly groomed trails. Along the way we’ll talk about goats as pack animals, what they eat, and you’ll learn a thing or two about raising and caring for goats. There's lots of time for interacting with the goats, asking questions, or just soaking in the Maine woods and these adorable, fun animals. We end the experience with fresh goat milk and homemade cookies! Please note: Children must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by an adult. 5 and 6 year olds should plan to hold a parent's hand during the hike. (Children under 4 must be carried). Other things to note: The hike is not strenuous, but there is a little bit of steep terrain in 2 spots. We have rope railings on the trail to assist with getting up and down in those spots, but guests who have bad knees, hips, or other difficulties with uneven or steep terrain should be aware.

We strive to integrate the natural wisdom of the llama with the cultural heritage of this intelligent creature by relating knowledge of the Andean cosmology and the Andean spiritual path. Here you will have the opportunity to meet, greet, interact with and communicate with our specially trained llama friends. This Experience is about llamas for wellness and educational proposes. We do believe in llamas as healers and messengers of Mother Nature (Pachamama). We want you to experience their medicine and help us on their training too. Safety is always top priority for guests and the llamas, so our program will be different on a winter day after a rainy week than it will be on a hot August afternoon. Please wear comfortable shoes and country clothing. We will put you into situations where you will be able to understand who these llamas are, personally discovering the different personalities that make up our herd. Other things to note We will introduce you to our "Speechless Brothers". Be prepared to learn all about llamas. They are smart, clean and personable. Let them know you are as well.

We'll get comfortable in our studio barn/workshop area, where you'll grab a glass of homemade wine from our organic orchard, wildcrafted herbal tea, and/or fruit-infused spring water from our bar before we get started. Once everyone is settled with a beverage, I'll do a quick demonstration to show you the techniques and procedures for making several different styles of rings. Then you'll get busy working hands-on with different tools and materials to create your own custom, unique ring exactly to your liking. I can provide as much support as necessary to help you to feel comfortable with the process and to create your desired outcome. We'll seal/finish your ring if necessary and you'll take it home with you at the end of the session. For those who are interested, you will also have an opportunity to tour our urban homestead and be immersed in the many endeavors we have going. While visiting the artist's studio, you learn the process of blowing glass, and basic glassblowing techniques including taking a gather, marvering, blow'n-cap, and shaping glass. The workshop is very hands-on, focused on the process instead of the final product. With experienced glass artists, you make 2 to 3 small objects such as a paperweight, ornament/float, and/or drinking glass, to take home. Glassblowing is a team work. We strongly recommend to experience this with another person. If you are solo, you may still book a spot. However, the single booker should expect to finish earlier. Best to wear a cotton top and cotton pants. Open-toed shoes are not allowed. Please bring a pair of sunglasses with you. Be prepared to be hot and sweaty, and to have fun! BYOB if you like. As we paddle through La Jolla’s Marine Reserve keep an eye out for Seals, Sea Lions, Sea Turtles, Pelicans, Dolphin and Gray whales in the fall/winter. Note: We cannot guarantee sea life. If conditions are safe, we will help guide your kayak into Emerald Cave. If it's not safe to enter Emerald Cave, we will still paddle out & explore La Jolla's World-Famous Marine Reserve. Snorkeling in a whole new way that makes it easier and more fun. Come jet scooter snorkel through the crystal clear waters of Hawaii on this adventure snorkeling tour. Anyone can do this tour as it is for beginners also. I will take you to one of the best snorkeling sites on Oahu to see sea turtles, tons of fish, sea life and dolphins. We will be using our jet propelled underwater scooter devices to create a fun and unique snorkeling experience, unlike any other! This tour will begin with a complimentary pickup from Waikiki at 2412 Koa ave, and a scenic drive to our snorkeling site approx. 30 mins depending which dive site we will be heading too. Dive site choice is dependent on conditions.If you are staying outside of Waikiki, please look at Kahe Point Beach Park on maps, it may be closer for you to meet us there. Please let me know if you choose to do that. Once we arrive, we will go through a safety briefing and jet snorkeling orientation to get you started on this fun filled tour. We accept all skill levels including first timers! Once in the water, we will practice using the Jet devices and begin our snorkeling tour. Majority of the time we will see sea turtles, beautiful corals and lots of beautiful fish. We see dolphins on almost every trip but every once in a while we don't see them so we can not guarantee you will see a dolphin but there is a high probability.

Join Captain Joe for a relaxing private boat cruise over to our oyster farm where you will shuck and slurp oysters straight out of the water, and learn about our Shellfish Reef Restoration project. We will cruise around Miami Beach area where we will explore the bay where you will be able to see the luxury mansions of the rich and famous who choose to spend a few weeks or live here in Miami Beach. We will then drop anchor in a little bay close to some of the most expensive houses in Miami, allowing our sailors to swim in the shallow, crystal clear waters of Miami Bay if they wish, and then return to the original meeting point enjoying the air and views from the yacht while sunbathing on the bow of the boat or relaxing with your friends over a few beers as you are allowed to bring your own drinks and snacks on board. You will have a great time with us, you will make new friends and you might have the chance to see dolphins that love to swim alongside the boats. Please be aware that our experience takes place in one of the busiest areas of Miami Beach. If you come with your own vehicle, we recommend that you take an additional 15-20 minutes to find parking nearby. Multnomah Falls and other waterfalls and vistas of the Columbia Gorge are astonishing icons of geology, the sort that have inspired mythology and lore of warriors, gods and passions. We will drive out in our vans to meet the tallest waterfall in the state, and then drive to a few of the shorter but even more stunning ones, too; falls which could only be the daughters and sons of legend. In this half-day experience, we will explore wonders with some short hikes (totaling less than 2.5 miles/4 km) and visits to overlooks and vistas that will have you gasping in awe. While Multnomah Falls and its iconic Benson Bridge are together the most-visited tourist attraction in the Portland area, they are only a part of our experience. We will meet at our shop in inner SE Portland, where we'll ride in our comfortable Sprinter and Transit vans to the nearby gorge. Depending on weather conditions, we will visit a few small hidden waterfalls and spectacular plunge-style falls whose columnar basalt has us learning words for "amazing" in other languages. We'll also tell you stories, geology, botany and oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and wild spirits and about the oldest North American civilization, forever altered by “manifest destiny."
