Scarborough District : séjours à la ferme

Our Christmas stay was curtailed by family circumstances and Victoria could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Quick to respond to all our messages! Thank you Victoria!

We had a lovely stay at the Granary. The place was well equipped and the host came to welcome us as soon as we arrived. The area is absolutely gorgeous (you will need a car to get there!), and the EV charging station was great! The fact that the hosts live on site also gives an extra layer of reassurance.

We had a lovely weekend at the cottage, booked as we had plans in the local area. It is a lovely quiet location seemingly in the middle of nowhere. What comes with this is a drive down down a long track which was intersting in the pitch black as we arrived late! The converted barn looks out into a small courtyard, on which the horses are stabled in the adjacent side. The size was perfect for our family of 4, with the 2 kids in a twin on one side of the lounge/kitchen and us in a double on the other side. Phillipa sent excellent instructions on how to get there which were helpful when arriving in the dark, even though we had it on GoogleMaps. We would definitely come back.

Lovely little cottage, with all the facilities one could want. Welcomed with fresh milk and nice cake. Great for our overnight stop from Scotland to Dorset. Would be ideal for anyone wishing to tour the Dales

2 adults and 2 dogs had a great stay in the Cow Shed. Pre-stay communication was great, check in was a breeze, Christina was friendly and available. The stay was in a great location for us to explore west and north Yorkshire. The Cow Shed was clean, warm and cozy and had everything we needed. The dogs loved the garden and we're fascinated by the goats and chickens too. Our only reservation is the proximity of the A1. Noise inside the stay was absolutely not an issue but outside there is the constant background hum of the motorway.

We had a lovely stay at Pear Tree Barn. The barn is really warm and cosy. Everything was really nice and clean and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen had absolutely everything you could need and we felt very at home here. Cath was very friendly and helpful and was very kind in allowing us to stay a few extra hours as it snowed heavily on our last day. We definitely would recommend staying here and would love to come back here on our next visit…

A lovely girls weekend away for our friends 40th birthday weekend. Fabulous hot tub, a wonderful layout with lots of space to sit, chat and eat and drink. Lucy was a fabulous host, very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. Due to the remote location there is lots of wildlife, light sleepers were woken early, but had no problems the second night once we’d sourced some ear plugs! It didn’t taint a wonderful stay! Perfect location to switch off with great views and plenty of privacy whilst being brilliantly situated to explore the local towns and walks. Really friendly and flexible host. I'll will certainly stay again when back in the area.

We had such a wonderful stay! Ella was absolutely lovely—so responsive and welcoming, and no request was too much trouble. We felt very safe in the area, which made our stay even more relaxing. Our puppy was spoiled with treats, and the fenced garden was perfect for him to run around freely, giving us complete peace of mind. The house itself was spotless, tidy, and had beautiful finishing touches that made it feel extra special. We also really appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and the generous supply of logs for the fire, which made for some cosy evenings. Would absolutely recommend this place and would love to return!

A great accommodation if you want a peaceful and secluded location with views of a beautiful landscape. The barn itself was amazing. It has all the facilities you need, it's very comefortable, spotless and the decor was gorgeous. The hosts are fantastic too. The only con is the outdoor area was not very secure for a dog. We have a medium labrador and there would be no doubt she would get through the fencing and gate.

We had a warm welcome from Kerrie on our arrival. The Parlour is a beautifully renovated and very comfortable space in a beautiful, peaceful setting. We were a little underprepared with what we needed for our stay but Thirsk is just a ten minute drive away and Topcliffe is only a 15 minute walk. I hope we’ll have the opportunity to stay again if visiting the area - thank you!

Beautiful home in beautiful surroundings clean with everything you need , excellent host

We had a brilliant stay at The Barn. We were offered early check in as the place was ready early which was brilliant. We stayed here after our wedding and Philippa had kindly gone and got us some breakfast foods and coffee! The place was beautiful and just as described, we would definitely come back again!

Nicola was wonderful, friendly, accommodating. We drove a long way to get there and it was well worth it. The Shed is stunning, just as it is in the pictures full of everything you could possibly need… A little home from home comfort. Nicola had great communication with us and aloud us to check in a good few hours early as we set off at the crack of dawn. The garden is the perfect size and secure which was a relief as we have two whippets. The walks are endless and go on for miles. I highly recommend Nicola shed, and I hope to travel back there some day.

We had a wonderful week of peace, calm and walking in lovely accommodation with wonderful views. Close to Whitby and plenty of excellent places to visit.

Beautiful barn conversion with everything you could need. Comfy beds and lovely and warm after being out all day. Stunning surroundings and a great base for exploring North Yorkshire. Fresh bread on arrival and some eggs care of the very friendly chickens. Highly recommended!

This was our second time staying at the property and we will undoubtedly be back again. The location is beautiful and serene and you can be in the hills or by the coast in a short time. The barn itself is fabulous and has absolutely everything you need and more. Wendy & Dixie are the perfect hosts and treat you like a member of their family. Nothing is too much trouble.

We’ve just returned from a fantastic five days at Birdforth Hall. The accommodation is brilliant and very spacious even with 8 adults and 3 babies. The pool is great and the perfect temperature, and the other entertainment on offer is great. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a break away!

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and really enjoyed the local area. The barn is beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and felt just like home…we absolutely loved it. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly and we felt comfortable throughout our stay. Our dogs loved it too and settled very well. We will most definitely be booking another trip later in the year!

Just returned from a wonderful long weekend at Black Bull Cottage. The cottage is stunning & has everything you could need & more, beautifully decorated, immaculately clean & very spacious. The welcome basket was an added bonus. It’s well situated, just a couple of minutes walk from the town square where there are shops, pubs, restaurants & cafes & lots of lovely walks. Clare & Johnny are excellent hosts, very friendly & all enquiries responded to immediately. We had an amazing stay, would love to stay again & would highly recommend to family & friends.

We had a lovely weekend at Pond Cottage, we wished we had booked an extra night! The hot tub over looking the field was gorgeous and it was a beautiful location with lots of local walks. Plenty of wood for the wood burner and a comfortable cosy cottage.

We had a lovely stay at The Cow Barn for 4 nights. Everything was so well laid out, the furnishings are all very luxurious and super comfortable - from the sofas, to mattresses, to bed linen & covers. We loved the all the cow themed furniture touches around the barn and it was so warm, especially when we put the wood stove on in the early evenings. We took advantages of Fran's home cooking and had a meal every evening. The Chicken Curry was full of Indian flavour, beautiful chunks of chicken in a spicy sauce. The Lasagne could have fed 8 people and had layers and layers of meaty bolognaise topped in an overflowing cheese sauce. The Steak and Ale pie was home made, had a cow's pastry face on the top and was super special, served with potatoes and green veg - it was a real treat! We took the Sausage Cassoulet home with us and we also had the English Breakfast & the Continental Breakfast across the 4 days. Great for my elderly parents, who loved their trips out to Whitby & Scarborough.
