Beautiful sandy stretch of beach that is safe for families. Shallow safe swimming. Often sheltered by Kapiti Island.
The beach is soft and sandy and the water is inviting on a hot day. Very safe swimming beach for families.
The local shopping area includes cafes, bars and a great fish and chip shop.
The newly refurbished McLean Park is next to the beach and has a playground, skate park, basketball court and bbq and picnic areas.

Excellent for taking the kids for a bike ride. We recommend cycling to Paekakariki and rewarding yourselves with an ice cream or wood fired pizza (well worth the cycle).

Explore the stunning nikau palm forest along the walking trails of the Barry Hadfield Nikau Reserve. Follow the 1.2km loop bush walk, which takes about 30 minutes to complete, as you discover streams and small waterfalls on your way to a lookout.
Location: From the south, turn off State Highway 1 at the Lindale turnoff just north of Paraparaumu. The reserve is on the left before the road goes under SH1. From the north, take the Lindale turnoff north of Paraparaumu and follow the sign at the roundabout to Nikau Valley, take the first left with signs to the Nikau Reserve and follow the short road to the car park.

Our neighbourhood is quiet and friendly. We sit between the arty Raumati South and bustling Paraparaumu. Raumati Village is a short stroll, with boutique shopping and cafes and bars. The Waterfront Bar overlooks the beach and the perfect spot to have dinner or drinks and watch the sun set.
