Perfect place to stay in the perfect location!

Shelley’s place was beautiful and welcoming. It was truly a home away from home. Shelley left some things to get us started (oj, eggs from her hen, a loaf of bread, jams, Nospresso coffee, teas and our preferred milk.) She even brought me her Bullet to make smoothies! The space includes a large comfy king size bed in one room, a sitting room/ kitchenette in the second and a bathroom off the kitchenette. There is a beautiful private garden for the guests in this room only. We loved her wandering hens as well. We would recommend this space to everyone going to visit Paihia!

Superb balcony views from an elevated position. The hot tub was an added bonus. Peter gave us a welcoming run down of how to operate things which was very useful. Really enjoyed our stay.

One of the things that’s hard about finding a place in a new place is the sense of relative distances. We were further outside of town than we had expected, but man was it worth it. The views down to the bay were spectacular. And being from the northern hemisphere, the night sky is of particular interest. We were lucky with high pressure, so being just far enough outside of town gave us breathtaking star gazing. Jo was so helpful in making suggestions for places to see, quickly able to help us prioritize based on the way we roll, a good mix of walking and driving, a wonderful resource and real hospitality pro. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Perfectly located beachfront in centre of town. Everything to hand we needed and more. A great base for exploring Bay of Islands

A wonderful place to stay, comfortable, clean and well equipped for a week long stay. A great base to be able to explore the bay of islands from. Walking distance to Opua and close to Paihia. Kerry was a great and friendly host. Particularly liked the information pack that contained local knowledge and had all relevant info about the house. The breakfast starter kit with homemade break was great too!

The Stairs are worth the Effort. Highly Recommended. The Penthouse is a perfect place to stay when in Paihia. The location is ideal and within walking distance of the shops and beaches, the ferry over to Russel and out onto school road for the Lookout Track. The elevation gives you a great perch to look out onto the coast and outwards, which is great for relaxing after a day of activities. The Apartment is well equipped with all the kitchen ware you may need, the filtered water and the coffee machine are a great touch. Finally, Ange & Nic were very responsive, both before and during our stay, answering all our questions as they arose.

Stunning location with a spectacular view. House was comfortable and coped very well with our group of 7, however the upstairs bedrooms need to be shared by a family as access to the bathroom was through the other bedroom. Road up to house very tricky and probably better attempted with a 4 wheel drive. We had a great week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We’ve stayed at a few places in Russell and this one definitely has the best view!! The whole house is extremely squeaky clean and has all the amenities you need for as many days as you wish. It was great to meet Colin and Marion - they are wonderful hosts - available, but left us to ourselves. While only 3 of us, the space would be completely comfortable for 6. As Superhosts ourselves, we know how much effort goes into maintaining a property like this - well worth the stay!!

Beautiful spot right on Oakura Bay. If you like swimming, playing in the waves and walking on the beach it is the perfect spot. Would be great for families!

A fantastic location and a beautiful view! Ferry landing looks straight down over its namesake. Having grown up in a water short/rain collected area I understood and accepted the messaging through the house. The ferry means that this is THE location to stay if hoping to enjoy the Bay of Islands.

Total paradise with stunning views, a private beach and welcoming hosts. The accommodation was very comfortable with everything we needed, and did I mention the views? We stayed five nights with 2 adults and 4 children and even when the weather turned rough it was always a relaxing place to be. The beach was stunning, great for swimming, paddle boarding, snorkelling etc. There is a fairly steep bank to navigate to get down to the beach which is no problem for most but something to be aware of if you have mobility constraints. Thank you Marina and Tony for being such great hosts, we hope to be back one day.

Great house to stay in. Clean, tidy, well equiped. Gets great morning and afternoon sun. Nice easy stroll to the beach. Super comfy beds and heat pumps / aircon throughout the house. Would highly recommended and would love to stay again!

A beautiful apartment right in the Opua Marina. The view of the boats was peaceful. The apartment is very spacious, beautifully decorated, and super-clean. We had everything we needed for our six-night stay. It’s a short drive to Pahia, and the car ferry makes getting to Russell easy. The hiking track from Opua to Pahia is fantastic. The Marina has a great cafe (live music on Sunday night), a well-stocked general store with pizza and ice cream, and a great take-away spot with fish and chips, burgers, etc. If you’re looking for crazy night life, this isn’t for you. But if you looking for a lovely apartment in a peaceful setting with fantastic views, book it!

It was a lovely relaxing spot to spend a week in a rural setting with sea views out to the Poor Knights islands. A large property, accessed off a private road so very secluded and peaceful. Handy location half way between Matapouri Bay and Tutukaka, although you do need a car to go anywhere. Kitchen was very well equipped including basic supplies. Access to an indoor swimming pool, ability to charge the EV, and use of the laundry was a bonus. The hosts were very welcoming on arrival and explained the facilities and beach access path. Special touches were a bottle of wine and locally made nut brittle on arrival, and acknowledgement of our wedding anniversary which was during our stay. Annette and Bianca were super helpful and responded promptly to any questions.

For a winter break it really was perfect. Best spot ever. The best part....The people! Friendly, helpful. Kind. Every eatery was great. Op shop for fishing clothes too! Had great fishing with " Buckos" Dont miss it! Will return. Thankyou. BnM
